Launcher refuses to open. Help would be appreciated

Launcher Version: None yet

Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 32bit

Java Version: Newest Version, just checked

Antivirus Program: Windows Security Essentials/ Spybot search and Destroy

Description of Problem:

Whenever I try to open the the Launcher to install tekkit, it immediatly says "Technic Launcher Updater has stopped working" and it never pulls anything up

Error Messages:

It dosn't give me one

The techniclauncher folder is completly empty

ok but what if when i download that version of it and i get a winrar archiveinstead of the actual technic launcher and dont tell me the exe version i tried it just says cant find java directory so if thats enough info help maybe

Translation: You noticed a slightly similar error, and without bothering to search, you instead decided to pollute this thread with a run-on sentence. Go look for a few minutes, then post a bug report if you still haven't figured it out. Hint: Your .jar files are linked to WinRAR instead of Java, which either means you don't have Java installed, or your copy of WinRAR needs slapped.
