Tekkit server running unusually slow

Before i made the switch to a tekkit server i ran my old one with 5gb or ram i tried using the same command to run my tekkit server with more ram and it didn't work or at least it doesn't show, the server loads chunks painstakingly slow to the point where if I walk away and come back a couple minutes latter they still haven't loaded. All help is appreciated, Thank you

Double-check to make sure you have 64-bit Java. Then go post in the Tekkit Bug Board (with the button).
