Description of Problem:

When I try to open the tekkit launcher I get an error states unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application

Error Messages:

Techniclauncher.exe .net Framework initalization Error

Error Log:

Try the .jar instead.

I have the same problem, can someone actually give me a link to the .jar please? I've looked around and when I click the 'Linux\Jar' download button it doesn't give me a .jar.

Don't use Internet Exploder to download it. Try Firefox or Chrome - both seem to work fine.
