deathsnotes Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 So I have read multiple guides and watched a couple videos on youtube (all out of date) and I can not for the life of me figure out how to make a server that runs tekkit. I have the technic launcher installed, and I have an smp classic server downloaded that runs and is playable. But when I try to use the tekkits items on the side to give to myself, it says that the item ID doesn't exist, and when I go into creative mode and try spawning the items in that way, I get disconnected from the server immediately. So apparently I have a running server, but tekkit isn't REALLY installed onto the running server even though I have a working mini-map and can do things like change it to midnight etc, I just can't build or spawn in any of the tekkit items, which is kind of the whole point. Also things such as oil fields and such don't spawn. If someone can please, tell me how to make this work, my friend and I would love to be able to play the mod together and were getting really frustrated trying to figure out how to make it work.
drapeta Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I have something that is the same, but you cant give yourself the advanced tekkit items. It is like minecraft doesn't recognise the items. I just feel like that might be part of the charm Have to actually build something
deathsnotes Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 I've tried building them, for example making refined iron. I put the iron and coal into the furnace and nothing happens, as if its still the vanilla minecraft server. If anyone can at least post a link to a decent guide to making the server, from start to finish; which minecraft to download, what zips to open and what to copy where. Not sure why I'm struggling so much with this ><
Torezu Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Ummm...there's a launch.bat in the server files. Just put the server files where you want the server folder structure (anywhere, really), and run it. Then close it and do the configuration. Voila!
