downloaded latest java but still won't work

Description of Problem:

i've downloaded the java version i think is correct and my AV isn't blocking anything yet the technic launcher still won't run. Help?

That's probably the Java webclient trying to run the launcher .jar - you should go reinstall Java.

I reinstalled java and it's still not even starting up. The "checking launcher version" window appears for about half a second then disappears. Nothing happens afterwards. It's telling me "Access to path is denied"

What are the contents of the batch file you're trying to run? If you're not using one, do you have administrator access on the computer?

I'm just trying to run the technicpack.exe, and i probably don't have administrative access.

Make sure you have Java installed, then try running the .jar instead.

How do i run the .jar when it's a folder?

You have your .jars linked to WinRAR or another archiving program, I would imagine. Right-click on the .jar and click Run with Java.

That sucks, i expected i could get technic for free. Nevermind then. I give up.

Ummm, Java is free. The Minecraft account on which you're running Technic is not, but then...hopefully you already have one of those.

WinRAR, free or not, has nothing to do with this, unless you're trying to modify the .jar - it's just getting in the way. Anyway, why the month-old necro for this post?
