I'm entirely unable to connect to the server I'm hosting on my system.
Downloaded directly from the homepage and was unable to start the server using any suggestions that have been mentioned anywhere. I even attempted to use 3.0.4 instead to see if that would help. I also attempted using X11 to run the launch.sh and tried using a start.command instead of the launch.sh.
The most success has been with caspertheghost's launcher from the guide, but even then it still errors out. Either the log in times out or I receive an error about string length being longer than maximum allowed. I've made sure that there are no version conflicts as well since that seems to be the most common suggestion for that.
I'm able to run a vanilla and bukkit server with absolutely no problems. Ports are forwarded correctly and everything is up to date. Tekkit is the only thing giving me any trouble. I feel it is also worth mentioning that single player works perfectly.
Also, attempted this on Windows going through all of the same steps but I still received the same error messages or the login would time out.
