How to set up a server NOT FROM COMPUTER??

I need help, I am trying to setup a Tekkit server just for me and my friend to use. I am using the host VeoServ, I have uploaded and unzipped the server files but when I click start it doesn't let me join my server or even start it really?

Also, how do I install Bukkit plugins with it?
