Launcher freezes at Banner

Java Version: 7u5

Antivirus Program: Avast

Description of Problem:

Now i beleive this is a java problem because my regular minecraft will not work/download. I just got a new laptop and tried to download technic for the first time and download minecraft. Execute the launcher .jar and its starts. It loads some stuff in the corner and the banner pops up and thats it. Any ideas?

Note: I have unistalled java and technic countless time this night to no avail.

It would be nice if you'd post how you did this. There are several other people having similar issues. Or was it random success?
