When I load up any mod it's like im playing normal minecraft

Description of Problem:

I loaded up Technic and when it pops up it asks me for my account user and password so I put it in and launch it... I load a world and I have nothing. It's just normal minecraft. So I go back and it says to select mod... it doesn't work. I tried yogbox technic and tekkit. All goes to the same old minecraft. Do I need to add tekkit to my minecraft folder somehow? I looked on videos and nothing tells me. Please help.
