Updating Technic?

Now that Minecraft 1.2.5 is the new recommended build for the technic launcher, I would like to use it. Unfortunately if I update it, most if not all of the block ids have changed so, all the machine blocks that I have will disappear. Does anyone know of a way I can update it and still keep all of my stuff?

Not likely. There are so many block ID changes and mod updates that your world would be borked anyway. Either NEI the stuff you really want to keep in, or just start over.
