Launcher Problem

Antivirus Program: mcafee

Description of Problem:

every time i download the java version for the newest launcher it comes up as files in winrar instead of the launcher and i cant find out why and i see vids on youtube doing exactly as i do and they get the regular launcher. help

You have your .jar files linked to WinRAR. Right-click on it and hit 'Open with Java' instead.

Then you should run the .jar with a batch file. There's one in with the server files you can just edit and use if you want.

No. There are dozens of threads just like this one, and some places outside this site even, that have detailed tutorials on how to run the launcher, especially if it doesn't work the first time. Learn how to make a batch file, then include java in it. It's not terribly time-consuming, but I've already over my personal limit, for the rest of my life, on number of people to explain it to.
