Uhh my Tekkit wont update...

okay so i have no problem with the launcher but i cant update my tekkit. when i luanch it it says checking for updates but it doesnt initiate a download to update to tekkit 3. I would really appreciate it if someone could give me some help here.

Just so you know AVG, java version, and (or) the launcher is not the problem, Because i was able to download the new version of Technic without a problem. and yes i did try clearing the cache and no it did not work.

Oh and yes tekkit does launch it just runs the older version
