Tekkit running at 10-20 fps

Hi

My laptop, well my dad's laptop isn't that good it's specs are

Processor-Celeron Dual-core CPU T3000 @ 1.80GHz 1.79GHz

RAM 3GB

Sorry if I read out the wrong thing, I don't know much about computers

Would disabling certain mods help? I had it on the lowest possible graphics and set the render distance to short. I also set the RAM to 1500MB. Is the laptop not good enough?

Need more info, computer specs in particular. Does it have a graphics card? If not, 10-20 FPS actually isn't horrible. I would say to turn the memory allocation down to 512MB-1GB, no more.

Okay thanks it's just I get a lot of lag spikes and I guess I'm not used to the difference because my computers sooo much better
