Quick Question

So right now obviously the minecraft login servers are down so me and my freind were just gonna play tekkit in offline mode so I set the server in offline mode and all that but whenever I try to connect to the server it instantly says End of Stream for me but my friend who is sat on the computer next to me connects just fine which is driving me crazy ~_~ so does anyone have any clue to why its happening? is it because I have a migrated account? cause that's pretty much the only difference I can think of because our Tekkit Client/Files are fresh install from like a day ago and its been working great till the login server went down thanks for your time
