the minecraft.jar file wont download

Antivirus Program: avg paid

Description of Problem:

after i have downloaded tekkit i try to log in useing my details and it starts downloading the minecraft.jar file but never completes.... please help!!!

Yeah, that's most likely why. AVG does not like the launcher, and the feeling seems to be mutual.

That depends...are you also using a hacked MC client? Just...curious. :twisted:

wats going on wit it.. when it downloads avg shows nothing so could it be something else

AVG, for whatever reason (poor programming, probably), has been known to screw with the launcher's downloads. All the time. Even when it's off. I recommend removing it entirely. I have personally seen that fix several peoples' "can't download" issues.
