When I select 1536MB memory to allocate while using Technic Launcher for Tekkit, it loads until the main screen. The only problem is that, there no sound at all. I can play the game, join servers but there's just no sound. I decreased the RAM allocation back to 1GB and sound works again. I don't know if this is a problem with my computer or really a bug. I hope you can check can get back to me soon.
