tom9914 Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Sorry if this is in the wrong section :/ I have had a private tekkit server for a few friends for a few months and it has worked fine. Lately, i have been unable to connect to my server while my friends can connect fine, getting the error "connection refused: connect". So far, i have only seen help for people who can connect to their server but their friends can't. I have port forwarded, i have tried turning my firewall off, i have updated java to the latest version and i am using the same tekkit client as my friends. I can also connect to dedicated public servers without any problems. Quote
prenetic Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Some questions to help us get the right idea of what is going on: What is the address your friends are using to connect? What is the address you are using to connect? Where is the server located (e.g., on the same network as your workstation)? Quote
tom9914 Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 Thanks for the reply. My friends are using my external ip address with the port, I am trying to use localhost to connect, the server is on my computer. Quote
prenetic Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 When you start your server up, can you paste here the line that contains "Starting Minecraft server on"? It should look something like this: 01:01:25 [iNFO] Starting Minecraft server on *:25565 Binding your server to a network address will prevent you from connecting via localhost as the localhost interface runs in software on 127.0.0.1 and ::1 for IPv4 and IPv6, respectively. Nothing is actually transmitted over the wire. Quote
