Can't get on any Tekkit Servers/ Can't open Technic Launcher

Operating System: Microsoft Windows Xp Home Edition Version 2002 Servic Pack 2 Intel[R] Pentium[R] 4 CPU 2.60GHz 2.59GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

Java Version: Java 7 Update 5

Antivirus Program: Kapersky

Description of Problem:

when I try to log onto tekkit servers i always lose connection. Also I can't open the Technic Launcher

Error Messages:

Logging onto Servers-

Connection Lost Internalexception:Java.net.SocketException:ConnectionReset

Technic Launcher-

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135) Click on OK to terminate the progran

Which is it, the servers or the launcher? You can't get to the server screen without running the launcher.

Anyway, install the .NET Framework.
