Cannot Authenticate

Launcher Version: 3.1.2

Operating System: Mac OS X V. 10.6.8

Java Version: 1.0.6_29

Antivirus Program: None

Description of Problem:

Everytime I try to log in using the org.spoutcraft.launcher.Main java laucher (Technic Launcher), it says the following: "Unable to authenticate account with minecraft.net).

My internet is working (I checked it several times). My minecraft account IS purchased, and I tested my login on minecraft.net several times without problem. I tried changing the settings around a bit, but this didn't work.

My suggestions on the problem:

Do I have to update my Java (please tell me what version)?

Do I have to change some Firewall settings (describe what settings pls)?

Do I have to wait until Tekkit for Minecraft 1.3 comes out?

I have no idea on how to fix these issues myself, and I need help!

Please provide an accurate and descriptive solution if you know what this problem is, and how it is caused.

the same thing is happening to me i really need help aswel if you find out how to fix it please tell me
