Antivirus Program: McAfee

Description of Problem:

every time I login to play technic it downloads minecraft.jar 5 times then says update failed and I tried changing the version in the option and clearing the cache but nothing works.

I have the same problem, but I can still use Technic & Tekkit. Quite odd indeed...

Grab a new copy of the launcher, remove Java 6 and install Java 7, and disable McAfee while the launcher is working. At the minimum, do the last two.

Oh. I was an update behind with Java. Just updating (I don't use McAfee) fixed it for me. Thank you.
