Massive lag occurences. Help!

Hey technic and technic community! ;D

I found out about the technic server and launcher after watching various videos on youtube and instantly liked it. After a small discussion with some pals of mine, I decided to host a server over wippien (having the better computer out of all of us). At first everything went well although my one friend had the white screen issue (texture pack problems) but was quickly resolved. I encountered a problem half an hour after playing when I first looked at the giant new style of trees (not sure of their name but the leaves are dark and they look a little like giant palm trees) which suddenly caused an unplayable amount of lag in the server.

Ever since looking at these trees, there has been issues with play... every so long, my client, if not my friends lags immensely, causing me to close the game from sheer lack of control. since then this has happened in caves, on land, anywhere... I've teleported away from the areas with no success... If its any conclusion, my specs are:

I really hope anyone can help me out, I would love to play this brilliant mod online!

P.S - After reading the bug report template, I don't believe this is following it? I get no error or bugs. N/A

P.P.S - I've reinstalled Java, reinstalled Java JDK, defragged, disk cleaned (+registry), fresh installed both the Tekkit client and server and lowered all options to accommodate my PC, and still receive lag. I don't expect an instant reply but could someone help me with this? thanks. And aldrigviking, this seems relateable but not the same problem, It appears I receive major lag from the Tekkit 'jungle' trees... I'm unsure whether this is entirely the problem though.

I'm having the same problem. Everytime a player tries to join the server, it completely spazzes out, resulting in a 10-20 sec lag, sometimes disconnecting everyone. Didn't have a problem with the Tekkit 2.0 version, but after upgrading to 2.1 the server has been completely unplayable.
