Ok. When I first downloaded the launcher I had 64-bit Java on my computer on it's own. I got the issue with the the message "Checking Launcher Version" and then nothing happening. I've tried using 32-bit Java, I've tried using Java7. I've tried opening the .jar file in the .techniclauncher folder using both 32-bit Java and 64-bit Java.
When I try use 32-bit Java, the program doesn't appear in the list of recommended programs and it tries to open the file using Windows Media Centre which is incredibly frustrating.
When I try to use 64-bit Java, I get the little, black screen flashing up for a split second. The message at the bottom which managed to make out after much furious clicking is "Could not find the main class C:\Users\*MyName*\AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar. Program will exit."
I've also tried re-installing Java, both 32-bit and 64-bit. Tried it with either 32-bit installed on it's own and 64-bit installed on it's own but the same issues as above happen in both cases.
Nothing I've tried so far has worked. I'm not that great with this type of thing. Have I missed anything or is there any other solution. Also, one of my friends is having the exact same issue.
