Unable to download Technic Pack 6.0.7

Description of Problem:

I'm trying to download Technic 6.0.7 in order to play a map designed with it. Any later versions have different block ids and so make the map unusable.

After I select Technic 6.0.7 for MC 1.1, the launcher downloads minecraft.jar before getting to around 99% and giving an "Update Failed" message box.

I have tried it without antivirus and with firewall off to the same result.

There also seems to be a fair few bugs for this same issue with no real resolution, so any ideas would be great.

Update Failed, after downloading minecraft.jar gets to 99% or so

i have the same problem and same programs if you will finde out a fix fore it plz let me know
