Can't pick and choose mods

Description of Problem:

The mod select button doesn't work, so I somehow managed to edit the mods I can use by changing a file in the techniclauncher folder but I can't for the life of me remember which one now.

The newer versions of Technic/Tekkit don't use ModLoader, which was the means by which you were able to use the Mod Select button. If you don't want certain mods in Technic, delete them from the mods folder.
