Description of Problem:

I've lurked the forums a bit and read the stickies - I finally convinced my parents to let me "downgrade" *coughcough* from Norton 360 to MSE, assuming that was the problem. I'm still stuck at the splash screen whether loading with the exe or the jar.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have created exceptions in MSE and tried completely disabling MSE for the duration of the download
