Cannot Craft Solar Panels (RedPower 2) or Thermopiles on Private Server

Title: Cannot Craft Solar Panels (RedPower 2) or Thermopiles on Private Server

Description of Problem:

I run a private server (on the same computer I'm playing on) and when I try to craft a thermopile or a RedPower 2 solar panel, I get kicked. I've tried using a project table and crafting table. I have also tried spawning them in, and changing my game mode to creative, and selecting it from the menu. As far as I can tell, all of the other red power item work perfectly (apart from red-alloy wire powering pistons when it shouldn't). I have also crafted a blulectric alloy furnace, and that worked (although I can't use it, because I have no power). Please help!

I forgot to mention how I managed to get the server working on Mac. I used the normal Start.command file, except I replaced the path directory. Then, I deleted the "Nether Ores.jar" file from the "mods" folder (it doesn't work on Mac).
