I can't get a tekkit server working

Well I go to the wiki page and follow that but it don't work for me.

(also I'm on a Mac)

Plz hop me and tell me a way to actually accomplish a server

Go to YouTube and type in the search bar: "how to install tekkit server on mac" Lots of video choices. Watch at least three and you should be able to see who knows what they are talking about. :)
