"Checking Launcher Version..."

Operating System: Windows XP 32bit (I'm a scrub)

Version of Java: 7 update 3, I have tried both 32 bit AND 64 bit versions.

Anti-Virus: No Anti Virus is installed.

Problem: Whenever i try to run the .EXE it pops up with a message saying "Checking Launcher Version" then goes away. From what I have read many people seem to get around this by going to the appdata then running the .JAR file from there, or simply running the .JAR downloaded instead of the .EXE launcher.

I have tried both solutions but all i get when I run those files is a simple Command Prompt window that flashes by then nothing.

Error messages: I have not had any messages or popups with errors come up.

have you seen if any error txt file have been created in the folder where you run the exe file, or in the %appdata%/.techniclauncher folder?

Nope, no matter how many times I have tried running them, no error texts that I have seen have been created.

oh no.. i now got the same problem...

it creates the technic-launcher.jar.temp and then just stop working.

EDIT: but after a lot of trying it started downloading the jar file :)

It's not your PC's problem. As far as i know about web servers and stuff they are having some issues with the mirrors.
