can't allocate more memory to tekkit. help?

Description of Problem:

i can't allocate more memory than 1536MB although i have 16GB. I've tried to re-install the launcher but that didn't work. please help me asap!

Its because 32-bit Java can only use up to 1536MB of RAM, install 64-Bit Java and you're fine

You don't need to uninstall the 32-bit version by the way, I have the same set-up :P
