OS X 10.8.2 - Minecraft creates a minecraft folder and only shows 3 mods

Launcher Version: Technic Launcher Build 0.5.4.9

Java Version: 1.6.0_37 64-bit

Antivirus Program: None.

Description of Problem:

I wanted to start with a fresh install, so I wiped my old Technic Launcher.app and my ~/Library/Application Support/techniclauncher folder. I installed the latest version of the launcher this morning. I selected the Tekkit pack from the launcher screen. When I login, everything appears to run normally, all mods are downloaded and installed, but when it fires up Minecraft, I noticed that only 3 mods were found. I looked in ~/Library/Application Support, and now I see that a techniclauncher and a minecraft folder were created and some files were put in the minecraft folder. I wiped both directories and reinstalled the launcher, but I had the same results. Any work-around for this?

Minecraft splash screen (where you select "Singleplayer" "Multiplayer" etc) says "3 mods loaded"

Already found a work-around, FWIW. If I copy the mods and config files into the minecraft folder. I can get it to work. I also noticed that the "Quit" button on the splash screen is gone. Something definitely changed from the version I was using yesterday.

In my report above, notice that I said "I installed the latest version". So, unless it changed since yesterday morning, my launcher was not out of date. Nevertheless, I did as you suggested and downloaded Technic-Launcher-OSX.zip from http://www.technicpack.net/download/ again. I wiped my old technic launcher application and the minecraft and techniclauncher folders from my Library/Application Support folder. Then I installed the new version and ran it.

No joy. The launcher still creates both a techniclauncher and minecraft directories, and it says it's only loaded 3 mods (exactly the same as above).

Fortunately, I have a time machine backup of a working installation, and it is still working fine. Either the launcher has changed or the minecraft jar it downloads has changed recently. It's possible this only happens on Macs.

That would get rid of your entire installation, allowing you to redownload it all

Looking through the logs revealed that you've got one of these MD5 Mismatch issues I believe, search around on the forums for a solution for that

I don't own a Mac, but if you guys can run .JAR files you can try downloading the Linux/Other version and try that

Yep. The Linux launcher works fine on OS X 10.8.2. There's not much point in dropping it into the the Technic Launcher.app, though, since you can't launch it by double-clicking the app (assuming you're running Mountain Lion and you've got the apple patch that pooched Java for us).
