Update Failed when I try to run a development build.

Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3

Operating System: Windows 7, SP1, 64 bit edition.

Java Version: 1.7.0_09, the latest version

Antivirus Program: Mcafee (Disabled for this problem), Commodo Firewall (Disabled for this problem)

Description of Problem:

When I select a development build based on Minecraft version 1.4.2 (Technic 7.3.4) I get a message 'update failed'. I also get the same message for versions based on 1.3.2 and 1.1. I can download and run version based 1.2.5 however.

I have downloaded Technic 7.3.4 in the previous week, where it ran correctly. I wished to downgrade to play an old world and could not move back to Technic 7.3.4. I have tried re-downloading the .exe launcher and the .jar launcher, and tried running both as administrator. In addition I have attempted

the work around suggested by kysoto here: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/update-failed-on-development-build.30716/#post-257034 . As other posters have encountered, I encountered an error with Forge while trying to start the program.

It seems the problem is that the launcher is trying to download a file called 'Null'.
