Can't load any modpacks

Hello. I am having trouble trying to play the 1.7.10 modpack or any modpack for that matter. Everytime I hit play it either brings up a window as if it were loading up minecraft, but it just stays blank, or it closes the launcher, does nothing, and then re-opens the launcher. I have next to no experience with minecraft mods so I apologize if it's a very simple fix.
