To begin with, I know my hardware is trash. It has, however, handled many mod packs in the past without issue. My problem is that even with, for example, 5 GB of RAM allocated to technic launcher, mod packs only end up using 1.5-2 GB of RAM and ~25% of my CPU bandwidth and therefore end up lagging terribly. This happens even with fairly light mod packs such as tekkit legends, tekkit classic, and hexxit.

Laptop Hardware is an i3-4030u and 6GB of RAM (yes, it runs integrated graphics xD) The laptop easily ran the previously mentioned mod packs, and even a few more intense mod packs (FTB horizons etc) at over 60 FPS for the first year or so of it's life but no longer seems able to run them at higher than 5-10 FPS.

As a side note, other games I play such as skyrim, oblivion, and mass effect 2 run exactly the same as the day I bought the laptop, there has been no performance deterioration with any games other than minecraft.

EDIT: Now trying to play Tekkit Legends, it is refusing to use more than 750 mb of RAM even though I have 4GB allocated, and my CPU is peaking at 35% usage, so of course I'm not even managing 5 FPS. Why doesn't it use the available hardware it so obviously needs?

SECOND EDIT: This keeps getting better and better. Turns out it may be a driver issue. I have noticed that once in a while my computer freezes and tells me my intel graphics drivers aren't up to date. However, after following the instructions on intel's website, windows says my drivers are already up to date. So depending on the time of day windows is either telling me that my drivers are or aren't up to date. I'm completely stumped. HELP!

THIRD EDIT: WINDOWS IS BROKEN!!! So I decided to not believe what windows told me three times and completely uninstall the old drivers and install new ones. Even though windows said my drivers were up to date, everything is now running great with the new drivers! Moral of the story: Never believe windows.
