I try loading Technic or tekkit and get a pop up "update failed"

Description of Problem:

I try loading Technic or tekkit and get a pop up "update failed"

can no longer play tekkit

Same problem here it loads till 99 % than gives a message that the update fails

This is the same problem that always comes up when Mojang puts out a new version of minecraft. Basically, a new version of Minecraft was released, which means the Minecraft 1.2.5 patch that it has to apply will not work since the newest version is 1.4.6 and the patch is made for 1.4.5.So we have to wait for someone to fix the patch to 1.4.6 so that way it will work.

It is annoying as heck. I STILL do not understand why the launcher just doesn't pull from the mojang's assets folder on minecraft.net, which has 1.2.5.

Everyone in our server community (which is well over a thousand players already!) has this issue. No one can connect to the server now, beause this 'update failed!' message is spamming us all over whatever we do.

I've been struggling with it for several hours now, i decided to reinstall today on my computer because on my laptop its to laggy...bad day to decide to install >.<

reinstalling didn't help here. We could use some help.

i tried a thread that said to clear my cache and put a minecraft .jar file into the cache folder.. don't try it it doesn't work :(
