Technic Launcher does not recognize 64 bit Java

I have deleted all previous java versions and installed only 64 bit java, yet the technic launcher still only selects a 32 bit version of java after reboots. When I attempt to manually select the version of java through the launcher, it tells me that the version is already selected, even though it states it is a 32 bit version.

Set your Java path environment variable to the Java directory you'd like to use.  How exactly you do that will depend on what version of Windows you're running.  Re-run the launcher.

I already did exactly that. It is directed to the 64 bit version of Java in my directory, yet it shows up as 32 bit in the launcher.

If you're pointing to the correct path, and you have removed 32-bit Java, how is the launcher showing it?
