Not sure if I am posting this in the right spot or not. I am running a 2009 macbook pro with 8GB 1067 MHz DDR3 ram and a 2.26GHz Intel core 2 duo processor. OSX is 10.6.8 (Yes I'm aware this is ancient tech. Anyways, despite my old computer and operating system I can manage to make the launcher run but only under one condition. When the technic logo pops up on launch the internet must be off. I turn it back on as soon as the logo pops up and I can play online as usual once it all starts up. I have to run minecraft versions 1.11 or older for it to work with the latest compatible version of java for my operating system.
Now for the problem/question. Is there a way to make the launcher not crash while still being connected to the internet throughout the launch process? My assumption has been that it has something to do with the launcher trying to update or connect to something that it is unable to during launch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
P.S. before anyone asks, I do not plan to update my OSX version. I tried long ago and my computer was garbage, ran way to slow to be usable without even having apps open. luckily I had a backup to go back to.
