Alright, this is my first time setting up my own server, and I downloaded the server launcher, followed some instructions from a friend who has set up many servers...But when I try to localhost connect from the most recent Tekkit Launcher, it tells me it cannot connect because I need

"mod_IC2 v1.103"

"mod_ComputerCraft 1.41"

"mod_CCTurtle 1.41"

"mod_Railcraft 5.4.7"

Now, my most recent Tekkit Launcher has a different version of those mods. Specifically

"mod_IC2 v1.97"

"mod_ComputerCraft 1.33"

"mod_CCTurtle 1.33"

"mod_Railcraft 5.3.3"

Now I am not sure why my server seems to be running newer mods than the most recent recommended ones. I understand this is probably a newbie question, but I couldn't find it in the FAQ, and I would like to get this done, so how would you guys fix this problem?

First of all, wrong post! Needs to be posted in the BUG BOARD section. Second of all, the server that you are trying to connect to has got Tekkit 3.1.3. You have Tekkit 3.1.2. You need to upgrade to 3.1.3 by clicking the options button underneath the login button as you start up the launcher. You then need to check 'Always use development builds' and click OK. You then login and it will install it for you.

Oh. Well, thank you for the correction, since it was a user error and not a bug I didn't think it was appropriate to post in the Bug forum...

Isn't there a way to set the server to not use Development mods? They tend to be a bit...buggy.

You have to download a different version of the server to use different versions of the mods. Since Tekkit 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 both use Minecraft version 1.2.5 you can probably just swap out the zips but I don't know if anything in the .jar is different between them.

You can find the 3.1.2 server download here, just click the word "Server" in blue to the left of the green download button. You will see a "Previous Server Versions" heading.
