My technic launcher will not open

Launcher Version: 3.1.2

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.8.2

Java Version: Whatever the latest one is my mac updates it automatically!

Antivirus Program: Norton.

Description of Problem:

I was trying to play the new modpack Volts, but it said update problem, my friend said he had a similar problem with tekkit. He said that he re-downloaded the technic launcher, and it fixed it. So i did the same, but now my technic launcher won't open up. PLEASE NOTE: I am not an idiot, i tried the obvious stuff to fix it, i checked java, software version and other stuff. It still doesn't work, Thanks for any help!

Error Messages:

THERE IS NO ERROR MESSAGE IT WONT OPEN.

All of the sudden it works, but volts will still not work, it says Update failed.

I have the same problem.... when i enter voltz it just stays white,and some kinda white little window with 'hello' appears and dissapears shortly after.When i exit Voltz it stays a while and exits.What to do?
