Crash after login.

Mercurial

Question

Launcher Version: Launcher Build: '1.0.2.0'

Operating System: OS X 10.8.2

Java Version: Java VM: '1.7.0_10-b18'

Antivirus Program: None

Description of Problem:

I apologise, I'm brand new to Technic/Tekkit. I downloaded the launcher and put it in my Applications folder and opened it. The launcher opened, I chose Tekkit and put in my login info and clicked login.

The launcher downloaded files and patched. A mine craft sized window opened, but never got to the Mojang screen before it closed. I uninstalled (deleated the techniclauncher file, etc), re-downloaded and opened the launcher again. No love.

Error Messages:

None. The window just closes.

Error Log:

OK, I've deleted the techniclauncher folder, downloaded the new jar file for mac and ran it. It recreated the techniclauncher folder. I've tried to launch both Tekkit Lite and Tekkit classic. With Lite I get a second window that says hello, with Classic I get the same as above; grey/white window then immediate crash.

Has any Mac user had any success with the new jar file?? Any suggestions welcome!

Idk if this will work for you, and it didn't work for me, but I thought it would work for me, so maybe it'll work for you (that's a mouthful! lol)

Boot up the launcher, select "Options" (underneath "Login"), click the "Manual Build Selection" and then from the "Select Modpack build" dropdown, make sure the top one is chosen. When I first did this, the Modpack from MC v1.2.5 was selected!

Again, just a random suggestion. I have no clue how to read code and I am dealing with a problem in which the log is telling me how it can't unzip files but I have had no luck in responses myself.

Oh, and I'm using a mac as well, if that helps anyone else in figuring out either of our problems lol.

Thank you for posting, shirtandtieler. I tried what you posted and it fail for me as well. I tried all the different options, clearing the cash before attempt. The logs look very similar, all ending with the line: Loading Launcher from 'techniclauncher/tekkit'

Thank you for the thought, it gave me something to try! LOL

OK, so I saw the updated MacUser's fix. So, I deleated my launcher folder and downloaded the new launcher. I started it up and watched it download Tekkit Lite after the login button. And... wouldn't you know.... it did the same thing it has always done; crash after hello. The only difference in the log is that the TechnicLauncher version is now 1.0.4.3

Any Mac users having luck with the new version?

"If anyone runs into problems with it not properly launching, try downloading and installing the latest libraries fromhttp://lwjgl.org/download.php . Solves it for me with the latest launcher.

To install, simply delete the lwjgl.jar, lwjgl_util.jar and the jinput.jar ONLY, and replace with the corresponding jars from unzipped folder.

Then, inside the unzipped library, go to the natives folder, and copy the files from the folder corresponding to your operating system (Most likely Mac) into the natives folder in your .techniclauncher/<modpack name here>/bin/natives folder.

If at any time you feel you've done something wrong on the install, simply start the techniclauncher, go to options, and hit clear cache. This will restore the library and the natives from the servers." Got this from someone.... trying it
