client not accepting server info!

its simple i do have good internet but when i join this single port forwarded tekkit server my client deos not accept any information from the server so when i type something like test i cannot see it but everyone else on the server can i cannot break blocks or place them or pick up things and to me everything is frozen apart from me because i can move around freely and after about 8-10 minutes i might get a tiny snippet of server information like 10 minutes after me saying test it will appear to me but then my tekkit will crash. please help im addicted to tekkit at the moment this problem has only appeard in the last day and before restarting my comp would sort it out but it deos not affect it now please please help im so depressed .
