When it says checking launcher version, it says unable to download launcher

Operating System: win 7 64bit

Java Version: 7, update 11

Antivirus Program: malware bytes,

Description of Problem:

When i open it, it goes for a sec, then says unable to download launcher, please check your internet connection by opining www.techniclaucher.net in your web browser

I've been having this problem as well. I've found I can still play the various modpacks if I launch the .jar file instead of the .exe. However I'm unable to update and everything I log into technic using the .jar method it says a new spoutcraft update is available, do you accept. Upon clicking yes, nothing happens and I have to stop the process and restart the .jar. If I click no it works fine.

I am having the same problems exept I went ice fishing for 2 days (I don't know if the time matters) and I came back home from like a 240mile drive (I assume the distance has something to do with it) and now every time I try launching it it says that error. It's so annoying.

I've done it! go to your files, and at the top in the search bar type this exactly %appdata% (withought the spaces) scroll down to the bottom there should be two files(technic-launcher, and technic-launcher.jar.bak) move Only technic-launcher.jar.bak to the .techniclauncher folder and try to run technic again it should work, that proves fucking with files does work.
