making my own public server

iwanted to know people opinion on what plugins are the most popular. i have a a base set of plugins that i use for my clan but i know that grifing is a huge issue as people can not respect for the life of them other peoples hard work. right now i am looking at protectionstones, plot me, or MCTowns. if anyone wants to suggest a plugin like towny or factions that would work amazing on a server let me know. and if there is plugins that make the server any better also let me know. i want to have the most fun and the least amount of drama as possible.

I'm pretty much brand new to running a minecraft server. I've installed tekkit lite on my server but i'd like to for users chests and builds to be protected. Anyone have suggestions on tutorials for beginners for admining a tekkit lite server?
