New User with launcher problems

I have tried several times to run the launcher and it just dosnt do what It should It downloads like it should and then nothing. Can I please have a fix or a work around. Some instructions on how to use the .JAR Version should be enough. Thanks for any help!

You can get to the .jar version in your .techniclauncher folder. open start menu, type %appdata% then roaming, then .techniclauncher. in there should be a .jar version.
