Title: Windows 8 bug? Poor fps / performance issues (GPU perfectly capable)

Version: 3.1.2

OS: Windows 8 Pro

Java Version: JRE-7u11-Windows-x64

Description of Problem:

Screen flickering, very poor fps drops... what appears to be massive network spikes too yet not network lag just fps lag. First time I launch tekkit it will be fine running at 70-120fps with a HD texture pack no lag at all or network lag... If I close the game and leave my computer Idle for about 20-30 minutes, re-launch tekkit I get 20fps MAXIMUM.. mostly 12-20 fps with a huge spike in the network connectivity graph... the only way I have seen to solve this is to restart, as soon as I restart my pc its fine again, now this is a fresh install of Windows 8, so there is no "interference" I checked tekkit is only using 1GB of ram at most.. and not even half my CPU. I have the latest beta driver from nVidia (the stable driver does not support Windows 8 (it does but not for minecraft anyway because of OpenGL stuff)), the latest Java is installed for Windows 8, the latest Direct X is installed, DX11 copatible GPU's, both GPUS are SLI'ed.

I use windows 8 as well, but using an extremely high resolution for a texture (256x +) can sometimes cause a bit of lag. Also, try reducing your settings to lower versions, e.g. Fast graphics & Normal Render. Hope this helps

The lastest driver 310.09 if im not mistaken works quite fine with windows 8, I should know seeing that im using it atm. I just know that I have never liked the beta drivers...last time I tried one for the hell of it, I couldnt run online chess...

Also, my GPU is the 550ti...more than enough to handle MC
