[Mac] Click 'login' and launcher closes after white screen and 'hello' box appears

Question

Posted

Launcher Version: 1.1.2.0

Operating System: Mac OS X Version 10.7.5

Java Version: java version "1.7.0_13" Java SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_13-b20) Java HotSpot 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.7-b01, mixed mode)

Antivirus Program: Software is up to date

Description of Problem:

I have a fresh minecraft and a fresh mac technic-launcher. I double click on it and everything loads up fine. Then I choose a modpack (Voltz is what I'm trying to play) and click the login button. Everything downloads fine but then the screen goes white and a blank box saying 'hello' appears before everything closes (the hello box closes first then the other white box flickers slightly before closing). In the 'Options' button under 'Login' I have got 'Always use recommended builds' selected and 'Retry after connection timeout' selected. I also have 1 GB of memory selected and have cleared the technic launcher cache aswell.

I have been searching for a long time for a fix and have tried a lot of things but I just can't get it to work. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

That happens because you have Java JDK. So here is the fix. First off downgrade Java 7 to Java 6 from here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5559?viewlocale=en_US. Next go to Finder and on the top left hand corner you should see Go click on it. Near the bottom of the list you should see Go to Folder click on that then type "/Library/Java". In that folder you should see JavaVirtualMachines delete or if you need it again then move it some where else and than put it back to were it was when you need it.
