Client crash when crafting ender chest

Launcher/pack Version:0.5.4.9 2.1 latest

Operating System: Win7 64bit

Version of Java: 1.7 64 bit

Description of Problem: When placing the last item on the crafting table for the ender chest, the client crashes with this

Error Message:

Connection lost

Internal exception java.lang.NullPointerException

The server log says: xxxx lost connection: disconnect.endOfStream

My server had this issue. Somehow the item id for enderchest got changed in the server config files. It is 178 in the client files but on my server it had been changed to 251 somehow. Have your server admin change the ID and all will be well. Enderchests should still contain their inventory as well.

I am having this same problem. I change the block ID back to 178, but whenever I restart my server to apply the changes it reverts back to 251.
