Launcher refuses to start

Launcher Version: Newest version in beta

Operating System: Windows 7

Java Version: SE 7 U11

Antivirus Program: Avast! Free Antivirus & Bullguard

Description of Problem:

The launcher refuses to start when i execute it. It creates an "hs_err_pid[four digit number]" and that's basically all it does. I've successfully opened the newest version of the launcher once, but the attempts after that failed.
