modpack crashing for no reason

I have done my reasarch and I even got the mod files to download. But after 5 versions and much "ugh, what this time." I have a version that works fine when I install it manually but when I do the links and everything, I get a GREYSCREEN! I made sure all the mods are for the right version of minecraft, maybe not latest for that minecraft version, but ... It works when I do it. Why you no work!

Edit: Turns out I just had the new and correct modpack.jar in the worng location. derp..
