Starting from scratch. Need help. Vir... uh... Inexperienced.

Alright, just as the title says, I'm taking steps to start a server. I've determined my hosting company, the size of the server I intend to run, they run Tekkit servers, but it's up to me to put together the mod pack I want to use.

Now, as I've mentioned, I'm new to this. Very new. So what I'm about to say might sound absolutely insane, please tell me if I say anything that simply cannot be done.

I want to include the standard tekkit classic set, minus EE (Which is awesome, but kind of breaks the experience for me.)

Then add in Metallurgy. It says I'll have to change some of the item IDs to work with industrial craft. I could -probably- figure it out, given some time, but hopefully someone here has already been there, done that?

And then put in towny, sethome, and chest protection. Pretty sure those aren't the official names, but again, you're working with the uninitiated here.

I've seen a couple configuration walk-through threads around for towny, so I won't -ask- for someone to explain that for the umpteen millionth time this week. Yet. We'll see if I can wrap my mind around the information available, and go from there.

I'm sure I'm forgetting important stuff. If anyone wants to offer suggestions, reading material and the like, I'm all for it. I'd be very grateful for the help.

One comes to mind, disabling world anchors and items that function like them [Keeping inactive chunks loaded and running]. What items do I need to disable?

I'll take any help I can get, and will keep reading and researching in the mean time. But it's going to be an uphill battle for me, and I could really use some knowledge and experience in my corner.

One other question;

Assuming I get it assembled and working the way I want, what will players need to do to use my server? How hard am I making it on them?

Thank you all very much for your time, and expertise. I hope to make good use of it.
