Commands not working. Trying to change a maps settings...

Hi guys, hoping you can help me out.

I've been building a challenge map as a means of keeping myself occupied, and as its nearly done I wanted to get it rounded off and put it up online. Get feedback. Etc.

The problem I'm having though is that I have no idea how to adjust the map settings so I can set a spawn point, change the game mode, disable griefing so Creepers don't destroy the map, etc.

I've tried it the usual Minecraft way, but for some reason pressing T doesn't bring up the chat so I can put in commands. I have no clue if this is normal or not for Tekkit (I've never been one for the ins and outs of the system).

If you can help out, it'd be appreciated. Thanks.

You can do that all with a simple plugin "essentials" look up a tutorial on how to use it and set it up.
